Students transferring to a CSU campus may choose to use the CSU GE-Breadth pattern in lieu of IGETC. Students may elect the GE pattern (CSU GE-Breadth or IGETC) for certification at the time of transfer. We encourage students to have completed 60 CSU-transferable units with a minimum GPA of 2.0 (2.4 for California nonresidents). ALL IGETC COURSES MUST BE COMPLETED WITH A GRADE OF “A,” “B,” “C,” OR “P.” FOR “P” GRADES, STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED A LIMITED NUMBER OF UNITS—PREFERABLY NOT IN IGETC AREAS 1 AND 2 AND CERTAINLY NOT FOR MAJOR PREPARATION COURSES. CSU GRADUATION REQUIREMENT ONLY: The CSU system requires every student receiving a baccalaureate degree to be knowledgeable about the U.S. Constitution, American History, & state and local government.
